Introduction

The webcams and their resolutions that can be used in GPS are dependent on many factors:

In general, the GPS software works on any camera but in some cases there may be some incompatibility that are difficult to predict.

One way to check the compatibility of the webcam with the GPS software is to use the software MxCamTools.

MxCamTools uses the same software libraries used by the GPS but does not require the hardware key (dongle) and it is very easy to use.

Customer's system

Verifying the compatibility of the webcam has to be done on the real "customer's system".

The "customer's system" consists of the following elements:

Given the large number of variables in the system, described in the chapter 'Introduction', it is not sufficient to carry out monitoring on a system similar to that of the customer but must be done on the real "customer's system".

How to the check can be done

The check is very simple, the prerequisites are:

After checking the prerequisites, run Diagnostics of the GPS system from the Tools menu.

The diagnostics, in the end produces a diagnostic report which can be viewed to see which camera  have been identified and which resolutions are working properly.
